Background Information: Wiki Link

The above only really talks about her backstory before meeting the party. So here's a little more from after she does, since it's very important and of course Tales Wiki doesn't touch on it.

- Becomes part of a resistance group in Cyslodia
- Meets Alphen and Shionne when she tried to get to Calaglia and collapsed. She joins them and helps them get to Cyslodia to help.
- Is found out that she has magic when she uses it to stop Law from attacking Zephyr further.
- Decides to stick with the part after they free Cyslodia
- Once they had found Almeidrea later, she tries to murder her in cold blood, only to be stopped by Law.
- Was the first one to hear the Will of Dahna.

Those I would say are the major points, other than her traveling the world and helping the group. May be missing a thing or two, but it's still more than what the wiki said (which is next to nothing).

Personality:

When one first meets Rinwell, they'll find that she's intelligent, fairly energetic and is one to speak her own mind. She's not afraid to be blunt and she has a bit of a sassy nature to her, as well. However, due to her upbringing of being oppressed by the Dahnans, as well as her secrecy of being the only Dahnans mage, she is cautious. Rinwell isn't one to just speak what first comes to mind and rather thinks before she speaks. Usually.

After all, she has a bit of a temper. Her temper can range from her visibly frustrated at a situation or as a result of something someone said, to full outbursts. While she is quick to anger, she is just as easily can be calmed down depending on the situation. A few examples being Alphen explaining to her something Law failed to do so, to her receiving a special book after a quest didn't go her way.

Part of her temper was the fact that Rinwell can be a bit judgmental. While it has improved from being judgmental of one's character simply based of their race - thanks to Law stopping her from letting her hatred and judgement of Renans consume her - she will still judge the actions of others based on her own experience. Mostly now is it judging people's upbringings, especially of those that were better than hers. Also their stance on mages. A prime example of this is how she reacts to Dohalim and his upbringing despite getting along better with Dohalim than she has before.

Of course, another thing to mind is how one treats Hootle. She's very protective of Hootle above all else, having been her only family, and friend, until she met Alphen and the others. With the willingness to trust someone is also a willingness to trust them with and around Hootle. At first she was hesitant for Hootle to become friends with the group after all, until she opened up with the group herself.

While Rinwell isn't afraid to speak her opinion on matters and to call someone out, she's not one to really speak too much about herself, or her own feelings. This is due to not only being oppressed as a Dahnan, but having to hide that she was the last of the Dahnan mages, who were oppressed and resented even by Dahnans before the Renans took over. When she had first met the group, she was vocal about her hatred towards the Renans. However, she never told them why. After being stopped by Law
she learned that she had people she could trust, and started to open up around them. However, there's a point where Alphen notices she was holding back, in which Rinwell responds that she's still working on opening up to others and not holding all her burden herself. As such, it is something that she is gradually working on, but may still have a tendency to keep secrets and burdens to herself even those she has grown close to.

If it wasn't obvious enough, Law stopping her from murdering Almeidrea in cold blood was a turning point for Rinwell. Before then, she was secretive and outwardly hostile towards the two Renans in the party. Her whole reason for living was revenge, with no reason for living besides. By preventing her from getting her revenge in cold blood, Rinwell has realized that there was more to life, and it's something she continues to comes to terms with. She's thankful to Law for this, even if she continues to cut him little to no slack on his mannerisms. Law, as well as the others, are all important to her. A little big family, as it were.

Beyond the party members, however, there are only a small amount of people who are aware that she is a Dahnan mage. Since her ancestors were persecuted against even before the Renans took over, she remains cautious. She hopes that one day that alongside Renans and Dahnans she doesn't have to hide her magic to everyone. Until then though, she will keep this secret close to her, unless she must reveal it (such as using it to defend someone or fight something with little to no other options), or it's someone that she believes will be okay to learn that she is a mage. Any situation where someone who does not approve find out, she will try to revolve it as peacefully as possible. When one man found out and reacted very negatively to it, she was reserved, saying that she will leave and not come back, as an example of one day she will try to resolve it without further conflict.

Despite this though, she enjoys the study of magic and continues to practice and study so she can become a better mage. Reading is something she loves, and will often do so before sleeping as it calms her. It's not only the study of magic that interests her either. Things such as artifacts, especially ones that were lost in Dahnan's history, and just astral energy itself are just a few more things that she enjoys studying and loves to learn about.

In the end Rinwell is usually showing a bit of her true self around just about anyone. After all, she's pretty outgoing with her words to just about anyone. However, what she is outgoing about depends on how cautious she is, or feels she needs to be. Kind, but can be blunt. Willingness to get along, but cautious about who she gets close to. Rinwell is a young girl who is just starting to learn how to be more open with herself and others above all else.

Abilities & Inventory:

Rinwell has a very keen sense of magical energies around her. In Dahna her acuteness to the astral energies around that she was even able to hear the Will of Dahna more so than any of the other characters. Even when they are technically on other worlds, she was able to sense the energies. Or at the very least sense that they were different from the astral energies back home.

So at the very least, she'll be able to sense that the energies are different than what she can sense on Dahna. What more that can be sense from the world (as well as from others) will depends on player, situation, etc, as to limit it. Mostly since this place is, of course, not Dahna.

To go with that keen sense of hers, she's adept in magic herself and is skilled in using astral artes. Being the last of the Dahna mages, she's able to cast astral artes of the elements that inherited Dahna, being Light, Wind, and Water. This will carry over to any dreamotion magic that she can pick up on, so she won't pick up anything that would be considered a different element from those three.

With her own magic, she can quicken up the speed of it through her incantations. She can also delay activation of any astral artes she uses and use two at the same time. However, the most important thing to note is that she sometimes would say an incantation of a spell a certain tone, depending on her mood. This is something that could affect whatever dreamotion energy she picks up, since emotions can also affect the surroundings as well.

Inventory:
- The clothes on her back
- Her book, which also acts as her weapon to help her cast her magic.
- Hootle! A small, cute little owl who is like family to her. He was definitely in her big hood when they fell asleep, and thus got brought here with her.

Suitability & Plans:

Rinwell is one of those characters that, while got very good development throughout the game, there's still a lot of results that can be expanded on that the ending of the game only touched on. Her willingness to open up to people about not just her feelings, but also the fact that she is a mage.

Both of these are undoubtedly things I think I could definitely explore more while in songerein. As not only will this give her the opportunity to meet new people to perhaps open up to, but also meet others who might be in the same position as her. Either as just others who have magic, or mayhaps even others who had to hide their magic for one reason or another. Both of these reasons are also solid ways for her to keep generating CR. Her not exactly being shy helps as well on top of it.

Also, she's one of those who love learning about magic, so she would certainly be one of those who would look more into dreamotion and the mysteries that surround the place.

She's also cute and has a cute little owl buddy. Why would I not want to play her.
